Writer Wednesday

It has been more than a month since I did my first Writer Wednesday, so I figure this post is past due.

I didn’t complete many of my goals.  I started a World Building Notebook for Maiden Voyages, but I haven’t been able to establish a map that I’m happy with.  I have made a list of all my current WIPs, but I haven’t established a timeline for finishing them.

If the last month has taught me anything, it is that I need to figure out how to manage my time better.  I’m hoping that there’s a light at the end of my current health problems, which would certainly help.  I don’t have a lot of free time right now because I have to spend so much time sleeping.  That’s sort of an excuse; I’m trying to get better about making excuses for my lack of progress, but at the same time I don’t want to hurt myself by pushing beyond what I have the spoons to handle.  Right now, that just isn’t much.

I don’t want to talk about that; this post isn’t about my health. It is about my writing.  So, let me talk about that.

Writer Wednesday

In an effort to make this blog more personal and about me, rather than just about books, I decided to try this out.

As much as I love books and reading, I’m also a writer.  I hope to one day share my work with the world, but as it stands I’m still kind of… floundering around, trying to figure myself out.  I’m still attempting to learn who I am as a writer, to develop my own voice and figure out my own writing process.

I’m not going to write about this subject every Wednesday, but occasionally I figure this might be a place where I can talk about my successes and failures as I go.  I’ll set goals for myself, share pieces and scraps of my writing, muse about ideas, and show you all who I am outside of my book reviews.

Goals for Next Time:
– Establish a realistic plan for conquering my WIP list.
– Create a map for my Maiden Voyage series.
– Begin a World Building Notebook for Maiden Voyage series.
– Finish Event Horizon.
