Hi *waves*

I’m Jessy.  I’m relatively new to this whole blogging thing, so please bear with me while I figure it all out.  My only previous experience was the livejournal account I had in high school, which was more me word-vomiting my teenage angst into the void than an actual blog.  But, I wanted to see if this could work.

See, I’m a reader.  An extremely avid reader.  I love books to the point that it is a legit problem (mostly a financial one) but there aren’t very many people I know in “real life” that are as interested in reading as I am.  Which means I don’t really have many people to talk to about my favorite subject.  I’ve tried to deal with this by reviewing books on spaces like GoodReads, but while GoodReads is a fantastic website it isn’t a good place to start a conversation.  I’ve never met someone new through GoodReads, and I’m really looking to meet people that share my love of reading.

All the “how to start a blog” articles I’ve ever read all say you need to have a goal, and that’s mine.  I want to share my love of books with others, and meet people that are just as passionate.  I’m not entirely sure how to go about doing that, to be honest.  Right now the plan is to post book reviews, and ramble about my on-going efforts to set up a home library, and see what happens.

Ten years ago, I shouted into the void on livejournal.  And you know what? I met some really awesome people, and they helped me through some incredibly difficult times in my life.  We’ve all grown up and grown apart, but I’m thankful for finding them.  So once again, I’m going to shout into the void.

Please, shout back.
